The Davie County Arts Council is excited to welcome the nationally acclaimed Missoula Children’s Theatre to Mocksville for a one-week theatrical residency at the Brock Performing Arts Center, June 22–27, 2026.

This fast-paced, fun-filled program invites local students to audition, rehearse, and perform in a fully staged musical version of The Tortoise vs. the Hare — all in just one week. Designed to build confidence, creativity, and teamwork, this experience is perfect for young performers of all skill levels.

✨ About the Show
Missoula Children’s Theatre puts a playful twist on the classic fable as Taylor Tortoise and Curly Hare turn friendly competition into outrageous adventures. Along the way, they — and the colorful characters around them — discover that perseverance, cooperation, and friendship matter more than winning the race.

🎭 Participation Details
• Open auditions
• Camp is limited to 50-60 Students
• Open to students entering 1st grade and up
• No prior theatre experience required
• Not all who audition are guaranteed a role

🎶 Performances
Two public performances will take place at the end of the residency. Performance dates and times will be announced soon.
